Description:5'-Fluoro-2'-hydroxyacetophenone is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of human pathogens. Hydrochloric acid can demethylate this compound to produce 2-hydroxyacetophenone, which can be converted into 2-methylpropionaldehyde by methylation.
