Description

3-(2-fluorophenyl)propanoic acid is an inhibitor of aminopeptidase. It binds to the active site of the enzyme and inhibits the hydrolysis of peptides by acting as a nucleophile. This compound has been shown to inhibit both serine and metallo-aminopeptidases with high efficiency. 3-(2-Fluorophenyl)propanoic acid also inhibits fluoride ion, which is a common substrate for aminopeptidase. The fluorinated phenyl ring provides increased stability and lipophilicity, which allows for better absorption in biological systems.
