• Description: N-Fmoc-S-2-amino-heptanoic acid is a metabolite of the pentose phosphate pathway that is also found in the glycolytic pathway. It is a cell activator and, as such, can be used to stimulate the production of insulin, dopamine, and other metabolic products. N-Fmoc-S-2-amino-heptanoic acid has been shown to reduce levels of glucose in rat brains with administration through the injection route. This compound has also been shown to inhibit glycolytic enzymes and increase cell toxicity.
