Description:

2-Fluorenecarboxaldehyde is a molecule with significant cytotoxic activity against colorectal adenocarcinoma and prostate cancer cells. 2-Fluorenecarboxaldehyde has been shown to be cytotoxic to tumor cells in culture, with a significant inhibitory effect on the viability of these cells after 24 hours. It is an acidic molecule that can form esters at physiological pH levels and has been found to be metabolically stable when incubated in rat liver homogenates. 2-Fluorenecarboxaldehyde has been shown to have low energy optical properties, which may be related to its ability to cause changes in the conformation of DNA.
