- Flavanone, azine
Flavanone azine is a pharmaceutical formulation that is used to treat infections caused by human papillomavirus, flavivirus, and picornavirus. It can be administered orally or intravenously. Flavanone azine inhibits the growth of viruses by acetylating their proteins and thereby disrupting their ability to infect cells. This drug has been shown to be effective against hepatitis B virus, Alphavirus, and Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV). Flavanone azine also has antiviral activity against human papilloma virus (HPV) type 16 in vitro. The mechanism of action for this drug is not fully understood but may involve inhibition of host protein synthesis or impairment of viral replication.
