Description:Fmoc-N-Me-Gln(Trt)-OH is a peptide that has been synthesized to investigate the mechanisms of action of heparin. The synthetic peptide mimics the N-terminal sequence of heparin, which is hypothesized to be responsible for its anticoagulant activity. This peptide was incubated with plasma samples from rhesus monkeys and was metabolized by sequential enzymatic reactions. The c-terminal sequence was also investigated, but no activity was found.
