Description:

Fraxinol is a chemical compound that is extracted from the bark of the Fraxinus excelsior tree. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in vitro and in vivo, as well as hypocaloric diet. Fraxinol inhibits tumor growth and decreases tumor size in mice by inhibiting the synthesis of fatty acids. It also has a positive effect on degenerative diseases, such as diabetes mellitus, which may be caused by its ability to reduce fatty acid synthesis in liver cells. The mechanism for this inhibition is unknown but may be due to coumarin derivatives contained within the extract.
