Forsythoside F is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of flavonoids. It is an acetate extract from the leaves of Forsythia suspensa, a plant in the olive family. Forsythoside F has been shown to have growth-promoting and anti-inflammatory effects on muscle cells. The compound also inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells by blocking cell cycle progression at G2/M phase. Forsythoside F contains caffeic acid, luteolin, and echinacoside as its major constituents. It has been shown to inhibit chronic bronchitis in mice by reducing inflammation and increasing mucus secretion.
