Product Information

Name:
4-(4-Fluoro-2-Nitrophenyl)Morpholine
Description:

4-(4-Fluoro-2-nitrophenyl)morpholine (FPNM) is a synthetic drug that has been found to be effective against gram-positive pathogens, such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. FPNM is synthesized in microfluidic devices with the use of a class of molecules called morpholines. The synthesis of FPNM starts with the reaction of 4-(4-fluoro-2-nitrophenyl)morpholine and 2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile in a microreactor. FPNM has selective activity against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus and other gram positive pathogens, but not against other microbes. This compound has also been shown to be effective in killing linezolid resistant strains of bacteria.
