1-(4-Fluoro-Phenyl)-Pyrrole-2,5-Dione is a chemical compound that has two isomers. The more stable of the two isomers is the trans form, which can be polymerized and undergoes photochromism (becoming colorless in sunlight). The less stable cis form of 1-(4-Fluoro-Phenyl)-Pyrrole-2,5-Dione exists in equilibrium with the trans form at reaction temperatures. It also reacts with chloride to give aziridines. This compound can be prepared by a stepwise process involving nucleophilic substitution and elimination reactions at temperatures below 100°C.
