3-Fluoropyridine 1-oxide is a fluorinated organic compound that can act as an aminating agent. It has been shown to react with 4-bromopyridine in the presence of fluoride to form 3,5-dibromopyridin-2(1H)-one 1,1-dioxide. The reaction product has also been found to be effective in the synthesis of perfluoropropene and carbonyl compounds. 3-Fluoropyridine 1-oxide interacts thermally with a variety of nucleophilic partners such as amines, alcohols, and thiols. This interaction energy is calculated using quantum chemical calculations.
