2-(4-Fluorophenyl)-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylic acid (FPIC) is a thiazoloquinoline that has been shown to be a reaction product of xylene and orthogonal dehydration. FPIC is catalytic in the presence of glycols and hydroxylated thioamides, and it is an average molecule with an optimal science. It can be used for the production of ethylene glycol by irradiation.
