It has been shown to reduce anxiety in mice with a model system of panic disorder. L-655708 has also been shown to have pharmacological activity in mice with brain functions, such as mouse hippocampal, locomotor activity, and receptor binding. L-655708 can be used for treatment of anxiety disorders, such as generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) or panic disorder (PD), and seizures. The drug has a synergistic effect with other drugs that act on GABA receptors, such as benzodiazepines.
