H-Glu(Leu-OH)-OH is a postprandial plasma metabolite that is produced by the hydrolysis of proteins and peptides. The profile of H-Glu(Leu-OH)-OH in plasma can be used to characterize the metabolism of these compounds and has been found to be useful for the diagnosis of metabolic disorders.
