H-Glu(Trp-OH)-OH has been shown to stimulate the production of antibodies by polyclonal antibodies, which inhibits the growth of bacteria. H-Glu(Trp-OH)-OH has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and can inhibit lung damage caused by radiation. H-Glu(Trp-OH)-OH is not active against tuberculosis or other infectious diseases in animals because it does not cause an increase in phagocytic cells or leukocytes.
