H-Gly-Ala-Asp-OH is a pharmacological treatment for bacterial infection. H-Gly-Ala-Asp-OH binds to the GABA receptor and inhibits the production of GABA, which is an inhibitory neurotransmitter that regulates neuronal activity. This binding prevents the formation of an inhibitor complex with the enzyme decarboxylase that is required for GABA synthesis and thus inhibits protein synthesis and cell division.
