Product Information
Gallium selenide is a semiconductor material that is used in the manufacture of photovoltaic cells. It can be produced by the chemical vapor deposition method, which consists of heating sodium carbonate and gallium in a vacuum chamber. The light emission from this material is then collected by an absorber layer, which converts it into electrical energy. Gallium selenide has been shown to have transport properties that are similar to those of copper, and is able to carry out oxidation-reduction reactions with 3-mercaptopropionic acid and molybdenum. This material has also been shown to be an effective thermal conductor, as it does not change its volume significantly under high temperatures. Gallium selenide can be synthesized chemically using diphenyl sulfoxide and selenide or electrochemically using boron nitride and copper electrodes.
