Product Information
- Glyx-13
GLYX-13 is a novel, orally bioavailable, small-molecule drug that has been shown to have anti-cancer activity. It is a selective agonist of the NMDA receptor with unique pharmacological properties. GLYX-13 has been shown to have significant effects on tumor cell viability and locomotor activity in vivo. The biological properties of GLYX-13 are mediated by its ability to inhibit the production of glutamate and to activate the NMDA receptor. This drug also has metabolic effects including lowering blood glucose levels in diabetic mice, which may be due to its ability to stimulate insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells. In addition, GLYX-13 has been shown to reduce symptoms of Parkinson's disease in humans and fetal bovine models.
