Description

Gabapentin related compound A is a gamma-aminobutyric acid analogue that has been shown to reduce diabetic neuropathy in vivo. It binds to the GABA-B receptor, which is a ligand-gated chloride channel. Gabapentin related compound A produces a rapid increase in chloride ion conductance and hyperpolarization of neurons, leading to its neuroprotective effect.
