The gastrin I Human (GAST-I) is a human gastrin that has been synthesized in vitro. It has the same amino acid sequence as the naturally occurring gastrin and can be used for diagnosis of diseases such as autoimmune diseases, which are characterized by an overproduction of this peptide hormone. GAST-I is a synthetic analogue of the active form of gastrin and can be used to study its role in various physiological processes. The GAST-I peptide hormone also binds to the MCL-1 protein, which regulates apoptosis, and is involved in the regulation of cytosolic Ca2+ levels. The molecular weight of this peptide is 7079 daltons.
