Description

Galangin is a natural compound that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and anticancer properties. It is an inhibitor of the pro-apoptotic protein Bax and can induce autophagy by inhibiting the activity of the pro-apoptotic protein mmp-9. Galangin has been shown to be effective in vitro against various types of bacteria (e.g., Mycobacterium tuberculosis) and against fungal strains such as Candida albicans. In vivo, galangin has been shown to be safe and effective in a model system for Alzheimer's disease where it reduces neuronal death.
