Drometrizole trisiloxane has shown to be effective in the pre-treatment of samples for GC/MS analysis, although it has only been used successfully with fatty acids and potassium dichromate. This compound is lipophilic in nature and can be absorbed by skin cells. It also absorbs UVA radiation, which may have an adverse effect on DNA synthesis or cell division.
