LE 135 is a synthetic retinoid that has been shown to have cell signaling and cytotoxic effects on k562 cells. It binds to the response element of the gene encoding dopamine β-hydroxylase, a key enzyme in the synthesis of dopamine, and inhibits its activity. LE 135 also induces axonal growth by activating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, which causes neural stem cells to differentiate into neurons. In addition, LE 135 stimulates pluripotent cells to differentiate into hepatocytes, which are liver cells responsible for detoxifying various substances.
