[2-(Hydroxy-Methoxyphosphoryl)Oxy-3-(2,2,2-Trifluoroethoxy)Propyl] Hexadecanoate is a calcium salt of the ester of hexadecanoic acid and 2-hydroxy-methoxypropanoic acid. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of eosinophil peroxidase and other inhibitor molecules in vitro in an acidic environment. [2-(Hydroxy-Methoxyphosphoryl)Oxy-3-(2,2,2-Trifluoroethoxy)Propyl] Hexadecanoate also has dna binding activity and can be used as a probe to identify potential factors involved in Toll-like receptor (TLR)-mediated signaling pathways. The compound also inhibits carbonic anhydrase activity and may be useful for treating bowel disease.
