Hexaethyleneglycol di(p-toluenesulfonate) is a glycol ether that can be used as an organic solvent. It has been shown to form stable complexes with metal cations, such as copper and silver. Hexaethyleneglycol di(p-toluenesulfonate) has been shown to interact with other ligands, such as carbonyl ligands. Hexaethyleneglycol di(p-toluenesulfonate) is also a fluorescent compound. The x-ray crystal structures of this compound have been shown to be stable at room temperature, which makes it a useful product for chemosensors.
