Product Information
Hypocrellin A is a natural product with reactive properties. It has been shown to react with human serum and k562 cells, inhibiting the growth of carcinoma cell lines. Hypocrellin A also induces apoptosis in squamous carcinoma cells by altering mitochondrial membrane potential. The reactive properties of this compound are due to its ability to form intramolecular hydrogen bonds and its ability to bind to DNA, which may lead to inhibition of rna synthesis. Hypocrellin A is a member of the hypocrellin family that includes hypocrellin B, D, E, F, and G. These compounds all have anti-cancer properties as well as other activities such as immunosuppression and anti-inflammatory effects.
