Product Information
Name:Phosphohydroxypyruvic acid
Synonyms:
- 2-Oxo-3-(phosphonooxy)propanoic acid
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Phosphohydroxypyruvic acid is a drug that has been shown to inhibit serine hydrolase and methyl transferase, which are enzymes involved in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine. It also inhibits the activity of dehydrogenases, which are enzymes that catalyze the oxidation-reduction reaction in energy metabolism. Phosphohydroxypyruvic acid has been shown to have anticancer properties against MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells and wild-type strain cells. The drug blocks transcriptional regulation by binding to the receptor site on DNA and prevents transcription. A structural analysis of this drug showed that it binds to malonic acid at two sites, one site being close to the phosphate group and another site being close to the carboxyl group. This binding prevents phosphohydroxypyruvic acid from forming a stable complex with ATP, thereby inhibiting its reaction mechanism.
