Product Information
- 1-Hydroxy-6-Oxo-1,6-Dihydropyridine-2-Carboxylic Acid
1-Hydroxy-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridine-2-carboxylic acid is a molecule that contains a carbonyl group. It can be used as a ligand in coordination chemistry and has been shown to bind to the active site of plasma glucose oxidase. This compound is an isomer of 2,4-dihydroxypyrimidine and 2,4,5,6-tetrahydroxypyrimidine. The theory of this substance is based on functional groups and thermodynamics. The titration method measures the number of molecules in solution by adding an excess of the titrant (proton or strong base) until all molecules are converted into ions. Titration can also be used to measure the concentration of carboxylate ions in a solution with a pH indicator such as phenolphthalein or methyl orange.
