Description:
Vorinostat is a histone deacetylase inhibitor which interferes with gene transcription regulatory mechanisms. It targets histones and non-histone proteins within transcription factor complexes involved in regulation of cell proliferation (p53), protein stability (Hsp90), apoptosis (Bcl-2 family), cell motility (α-tublin), and angiogenesis (HIF-1α). Vorinostat affects epigenetic regulation in various cancers and has been used in clinical trials as anticancer drug.
