Description

Hydrocortisone is a hormone that belongs to the glucocorticoid class. It is used in the treatment of various diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis, lupus erythematosus, and others. Hydrocortisone has been shown to inhibit cell lysis by decreasing the activity of some enzymes responsible for this process. In addition, hydrocortisone can also bind to specific receptors in the brain and regulate neurotransmitter release. Hydrocortisone has been shown to be effective against infectious diseases such as sepsis and pneumonia.
