Description:

2-Hydroxybenzoic-3,4,5,6-D4 acid is a metabolite of carbamazepine that is used in the determination of plasma levels. The method is based on the use of a spectrometer for measuring the absorption at wavelengths between 225 and 285 nm. 2-Hydroxybenzoic-3,4,5,6-D4 acid can be quantified by comparison with a calibration curve prepared from samples containing known amounts of this compound. This metabolite can also be used in the determination of urinary levels of 2-hydroxybenzoic acids including hydroxybenzoic acid.
