    Product Information

    Name:Hydroxy(2-naphthyl)methanephosphonic acid
    Synonyms:
    • P-(Hydroxy-2-naphthalenylmethyl)phosphonic acid(Hydroxy-2-naphthalenylmethyl)phosphonic acidHNMPA
    Brand:Biosynth
Description:Hydroxy(2-naphthyl)methanephosphonic acid (HNMP) is an organic compound that has been shown to have a variety of biological effects, including the promotion of epidermal growth factor. HNMP has been shown to be an activator of autophagy in cultured cells and can also promote pluripotent stem cell formation. In addition, HNMP has been shown to be a metabolic regulator in diabetic neuropathy models. It increases glucose uptake and decreases reactive oxygen species production. HNMP also promotes transcriptional regulation by inhibiting histone deacetylase activity and increasing mitochondrial biogenesis. The method for synthesizing HNMP is a chemical reaction between 2-naphthyl acetic acid and phosphorous pentoxide in the presence of dichloromethane as a solvent.
