• Description: Dobutamine is a beta-adrenergic agonist that causes the heart to contract and increase blood pressure. Dobutamine stimulates dopamine receptors in the heart, which increases the systolic pressure. This drug also improves left ventricular regional wall motion, papillary muscle function, and mitral valve regurgitation.
