4-Hexylaniline is a synthetic chemical that is used to make other organic compounds. It is an impurity in some other chemicals, such as nylon 6,6 and nylon 66. 4-Hexylaniline has been shown to be a carcinogen in animal studies. A linear regression analysis of the data from population growth experiments showed that the rate of population growth was related to the concentration of 4-hexylaniline. The thermal expansion coefficient of 4-hexylaniline has been measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Hydrogen bonding between molecules increases with increasing temperature, and this effect is seen in the DSC thermogram for 4-hexylaniline. The amination reaction between 4-hexylaniline and ammonia produces hexamethylenetetramine (HMT) and formaldehyde as products. This reaction can be used to validate the presence of 4-hexylaniline in unknown samples using NMR spectrosc
