N,N'-Hexamethylenebisacetamide has also shown antibacterial efficacy against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis, but not the Gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli or Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This drug has low acute toxicities and can be administered intravenously or orally.
