Hydroquinone bis(2-hydroxyethyl) ether is a chemical compound that has the molecular formula CHClO. It is a colorless liquid with a viscosity of 0.3 Pa·s, and a density of 1.04 g/cm3 at 20°C. Hydroquinone bis(2-hydroxyethyl) ether has been shown to have good transport properties, with high solubility in water and organic solvents. It also interacts with calcium carbonate by hydrogen bonding interactions and can be used as a model protein for experiments on the properties of proteins. Hydroquinone bis(2-hydroxyethyl) ether is also used as an industrial chemical, where it may be used in the production of uv absorbers, anti-mildew agents, and gas sensors in air conditioning systems.
