Description

3-Hydroxyflavone is a flavonol that has been shown to inhibit the activity of protein kinases and suppress cell proliferation. This compound is used in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of osteoporosis, breast cancer, and other cancers. 3-Hydroxyflavone inhibits the cell cycle by blocking G1 phase progression and inducing apoptosis. It also inhibits the growth of cancer cells by blocking their ability to proliferate and inhibiting their ability to invade surrounding tissues. 3-Hydroxyflavone has been shown to be effective against both estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) and estrogen receptor-negative (ER-) breast cancer cells lines.
