Description

8-Hydroxyjulolidine is a molecule that has been used as a probe for the detection of acidic environments. It is sensitive to metal ions and hydrolyzes in an acid environment, producing chloride and hydrochloric acid. 8-Hydroxyjulolidine fluoresces when it meets the substrate and undergoes a reaction with the metal ion.
