Description:
Hexacosafluorododecane is a molecule that has been detected in the interstellar medium. The molecule fluoresces when irradiated with light and has a strong absorption band at about 6.6 micrometers, which corresponds to the wavelength of radiation emitted by a chlorine atom. Hexacosafluorododecane is also found in fatty esters and can be created by the reaction of an acylation reaction with hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide solution, and fluorine.
