1-Hexyl-2,3-dimethylimidazolium Iodide (1HDMI) is an amide that can be used as a corrosion inhibitor. It has been shown to have synergic effects when combined with gold nanoparticles. The efficiencies of 1HDMI are increased by more than 10% when it is used in combination with gold nanoparticles. This additive also has a photostability and photocurrent efficiency, and can be used for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, microscopy, and nanotube applications.
