8'-Hydroxyformononetin is a natural compound with pharmacokinetic properties that has been shown to be readily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It is metabolized in the liver, where it undergoes hydroxylation by cytochrome P450 enzymes and conjugation with glucuronic acid. 8'-Hydroxyformononetin has been shown to have anti-inflammatory activity, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. This compound also has antihypertensive activity and can be used for the treatment of cancer. 8'-Hydroxyformononetin is not active against MRSA or other Gram-positive bacteria.
