Product Information
2'-Hydroxy-3,4,4',6'-tetramethoxychalcone is a flavonoid that has been isolated from the bark of caloxylon. It is structurally related to trimethoxychalcone and flavones. The 2'-hydroxy group on the A ring is important for binding to proteins and enzymes, which may account for its anti-inflammatory properties. 2'-Hydroxy-3,4,4',6'-tetramethoxychalcone has also been shown to inhibit the activity of rutinase and quercetinase in vitro. This compound has been found in the leaves, fruit, and bark of pongamia trees (Pongamia pinnata) as well as in some plants of the Rutaceae family such as Citrus aurantium (lime), Citrus sinensis (sweet orange), Cydonia oblonga (quince), and Eugenia aromatica (clove).
