Description

3-Hydroxyanthranilic acid (3HA) is an intermediate in the synthesis of tryptophan, which is a precursor to serotonin. 3HA has been shown to be beneficial for brain functions and bowel disease. It also has a synergic effect with picolinic acid as a treatment for Parkinson's disease. A study has shown that 3HA increases energy metabolism and promotes the production of high-energy molecules such as ATP, NADH, and FADH2. The biological sample can be collected from blood or urine. The analytical method used is high performance liquid chromatography with UV detection at 280 nm.
