Description:

5-Hydroxy-2-nitrobenzoic acid is a metabolite of pyrethroid pesticides. It has been shown to be an inhibitor of the ns5b polymerase, which is responsible for the synthesis of DNA in eukaryotic cells. It also has anti-malarial activity and has been shown to inhibit both the erythrocytic and liver stages of Plasmodium falciparum. 5-Hydroxy-2-nitrobenzoic acid also inhibits chrysomya albiceps, which is a species of musca that causes photodecomposition. This product is not active against strains with resistance to amino acids or anthranilic acid.
