Hydroxylongispinogenin, 23 (HLG-23) is a saponin extract from the rhamnaceae family. It has been shown to have anti-cancer effects in vitro and in vivo, as well as hepatoprotective effects against CCl4 toxicity. HLG-23 has also been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting protein synthesis through its ability to inhibit ribosomal activity and block cell proliferation. The dry weight of this saponin is approximately 0.3%.
