Heptafluoro-Quinoline is a fluorinated compound that contains a carbonyl group. It has the ability to react with nucleophiles such as oxygen, fluorine, and hydrogen chloride. The Heptafluoro-Quinoline can react with the sulfonic acid group of aluminium in the presence of phosphorus pentachloride to form an intermediate product. This intermediate product can then react with an alcohol or phenol to produce a substitution reaction. Heptafluoro-Quinoline also reacts with hydrochloric acid or hydroxylamine to form products containing a hydroxyl group.
