2-Ethenyl-3-fluoropyridine is a germanium, copper and carbon nanotube based electrode material that has been shown to have multifunctional properties. This material can be used in experimental high energy density capacitors with densities of up to 10g/cm3. It also shows multifunctionality as it can be used as a current collector and anode in lithium ion batteries. It has been shown to have good electrochemical performance, even at high temperatures, making it possible to achieve higher energy densities than those currently available for commercial use.
