Description

Isoimperatorin is a natural compound that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory activity in preadipocytes from 3T3-L1 cells. It inhibits nitrate reductase and Bcl-2 protein production, which can be used as a model system for bowel disease. Isoimperatorin also exhibits antimicrobial effects against oral pathogens and inhibits the synthesis of bacterial DNA by binding to the response element. Isoimperatorin has been shown to exhibit anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
