Description

H-Ile-His-OH is a peptide that has been found to be an antagonist of the epidermal growth factor receptor. It has been shown to decrease inflammation in animal models of bowel disease and may be useful in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. H-Ile-His-OH has also been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF α. This peptide also inhibits monoclonal antibody production by dendritic cells and can prevent resistant mutants from developing. H-Ile-His-OH is a potent antagonist of Toll-Like Receptor (TLR) 4, TLR2, TLR3, and TLR9. H-Ile-His-OH is currently being investigated for its possible role in the treatment of infectious diseases and autoimmune diseases.
