It also inhibits the protease activity of trypsin, chymotrypsin, and elastase at a similar rate. Isovaleryl-Val-Val-Sta-OEt has been shown to be an active inhibitor of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and reverse transcriptase activities. This drug is not absorbed through skin and can be used as a nonimmunogenic reagent for biochemical studies on water permeability and signal peptide sequences in biological samples.
